Dear Divya, as per my knowledge I grasped, there are two types of vegetables from 'kadhu family', that are very popular in India. The roundish yellow coloured gourd which in general is called as 'kadhu' in Hindi [pumpkin in English, and mostly used for making soups and pies in Western Countries]. The white coloured gourd which is ash gourd in English , is 'Petha or safed kaddu' in Hindi. Cheers,
