Vegetable Manchurian

Chinese fusion recipe

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings


    • 2 cups Grated Cabbage
    • 2 cups Grated Carrots
    • 1 Chopped Onion
    • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
    • 2 tbsp Maida
    • Oil for deep frying
    • 1 tbsp Soya Sauce
    • Salt to taste
    • 1 tsp Pepper Powder
    • 1 tsp Sugar
    • 1 tbsp Cornflour
    • 2 tbsp oil

    Directions

    1. Mix grated cabbage and carrots and squeeze the water out from them.
    2. Now in a bowl take the squeezed cabbage and carrots and mix 2 tbsp. maida and little salt to it.
    3. Make small balls (like koftas) of the mixture.
    4. Heat the oil in a kadhai  and deep fry the balls till golden brown, drain and keep aside.
    5. Now in a separate pan heat 2 tbsp oil.
    6. Sauté ginger-garlic paste, green chilies and onions.
    7. Add water, salt, pepper powder,  sugar and soya sauce. Bring it to a boil.
    8. Mix 1 tbsp corn four with half of a cup of cold water and stir into it. Gently add the fried balls to the gravy.
    9. Cook the vegetable manchurian for 3-4 minutes and serve hot garnished with chopped coriander.

    many ingredents are disappear what should have been included like spring onions peas green paper(shimla mirch) chillie sauce and ajinomoto 2nd thing is that how can we make the bolls of carrots and cabbage only add the dry maida and salt?

    It gives a tangy flavor if a bit of white vinegar is added to the sauce

    23/jan/2009 As i m pregnant , i ve temptation for diffrent different Indian cusines , and today i started crying for manchurian,thanks pooja for this wonderful recipe, now i m going to try and it wil b amazing,thanks 4 this great job,Now adays i m missing India and specially golgappe and manchurian(but nt manchurian now),thanks again, plz add some more .

    I tried this recipe, it was ok sort of. but i must say, it ws not as good as we have outside in the restaurant. So, it was not a perfect recipe for manchurian.Also, you should add spring onion instead of onion.

    Add 2 small tomatoes, one tbs tomato sauce, chutki ajinomoto for more flavor !

    Please tell is there no use of tomato or tomato sauce. Won't it be bland without any tangy tomatoes
