Dudhi Curry

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings


    Dudhi is known as Lauki or Lau in north india, sorakaya in telugu. English name for this vegetable is 'bottle gourd' 

    • 2 cups  peeled and chopped Dudhi
    • 2 tsps jeera
    • 3-4 red dry chillies
    • 1 tsp methi seeds
    • Salt
    • 1 tsp garlic paste
    • 2 tbsps oil
    • 1 tsps turmeric powder
    • 1 tbsp green chilly paste
    • Corriander leaves

    Directions

    1. Heat oil in a pan, add jeera, methi and red chillies.
    2. When they splutter, lower the heat and add garlic.
    3. Braise it for 1 min, add dudhi, salt, green chilly paste and turmeric, mix and cover, with a lid, cook on low heat till dudhi is tender.
    4. Garnish with corriander leaves and serve with rotis.
