Crispy Rolls

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings


    • 1 cup coarsely ground peanuts
    • 2 cup chopped corianer leaves
    • 1/2 cup ground coconut
    • 1 tsp red chilly powder
    • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
    • 1 tsp lemon juice
    • 1 tsp sugar
    • salt  to taste
    • 1 tsp cumin & mustard seeds
    • 1 tsp coriender powder
    • 2 tsp maida
    • pinch of asafoetida
    • pinch of baking soda
    • 1 tsp ginger paste
    • oil to fry

    Directions

    1. Heat a pan with 4 tsp oil, let the cumin & mustard seeds splutter.add ginger paste & asafoetida.
    2. Add salt, turmeric,chilly powder & coriander powder in it  mix it.
    3. Now add peanuts & coocnut powder also mix coriender leaves in it.
    4. Finally add lemon juice & sugar & remove it from fire & keep it aside.
    5. Mix maida, 2 tsp oil, pinch of salt & baking soda & make a soft dough of it by adding water.
    6. Make 10-12 pieces of the dough, roll each piece in oval shape ,spread spoonful mixture on it, & make a roll of it.repeat the same procedure for remaining balls.
    7. Dip fry all vadi until become golden brown.
    8. Serve it with tamerind sauce & fried, salted green chillies.

    Hello Kirti, Thanks for posting this authentic Nagpur style Sambhar vadi recipe. I ahve been searching for this recipe forever. I miss Sambhar vadi a lot since this particular style of street food is not so popular outside of Vidarbha region and specifically in the US. Thanks a bunch again for the recipe

    oh yes ur right mital..thanks for correcting my mistake,its 2 cup of maida & not 2 tsp. once again thanks lot.

    Hi, the recipe looks gr8 but i guess maida shud be 2 cups instead of 2 tsps as written. kindly confirm

    Hi Kirti, This is an interesting recipe. I have one question. You have mentioned 2 tsp maida in the ingredient list. I guess it is 2 cup maida. Let me know the correct amount of maida for this recipe. Thanks.
