Paya curry soup

Paya ( goats trotters.)

Though trotters take time to clean and cook,,but they are delicious,you can prepare curry or soup.

Ingredients non vegetarian 2 servings


    • 1/2 dozen trotters
    • 2 tbps oil
    • Salt.
    • 1 1/2  tsp ginger garlic paste.
    • 1 tomato (peel and grate)
    • 1 big onion  (sliced)
    • 2 tsp dhaniya jeera powder.
    • 1 tsp green chilly paste.
    • 2 sticks of cinnamon.
    • few peppercorns.
    • 1 tsp turmeric pwd.
    • coriander leaves.
    • 2 tsp jeera

    Directions

    1. Clean trotters carefully by immersing in boiling water and scrubbing with corn flour until no hair is visible or just rip off the outer  skin from trotters..then clean the remaining hair.
    2. Heat oil. in pressure cooker,(pressure cooker will save time of cooking trotters)  add peppercorns,cinnamon and onion ,saute till golden brown, add tomatoes,turmeric pwd,chilly paste,ginger garlic paste, dhaniya jeera pwd.  cleaned trotters,and salt.braise till masala well coated. add  about 5 cups of water ,cove rthe pressure cooker and cook till trotters done the bones should also turn soft.
    3. Garnish with corriander leaves and  serve hot with naan ,rice or bread.
    4. You can cook totters soup also .by putting cleaned totters in pressue cooker,1 sliced onion .few peppercorns ,salt, 1 tsp jeera,  1 1/2 tsps ginger garlic paste.1 tomato .cover and cook till trotters done and soup thick ,serve with toasted bread.
