Brocoli Stir Fry

Bored with the usual Broccoli Soup or salad. Try this recipe. I made this in Andhra style. A dry preparation, can be had with chapattis.

Ingredients non vegetarian 2 servings


    • 1 medium size Broccoli florets
    • 1 onion, sliced
    • 3 garlic cloves, chopped
    • 1 tomato, chopped
    • 1/2 tsp. mustard seeds
    • 1 tsp. urad dal
    • few curry leaves
    • pinch of asafoetida
    • 1 tsp. Rasam powder
    • 2 tbsp. oil
    • salt to taste
    • 1/2 tsp. turmeric powder
    • 1/2 tsp. chilli flakes

    Directions

    1. Heat oil in a pan and temper with the mustard seeds, asafoetida, urad dal and curry leaves.
    2. Add the chopped garlic and saute till it changes colour. Then add the onions and fry till light brown.
    3. Add the chopped tomatoes and continue to saute till well mashed up and till oil seperates.
    4. Add the Broccoli florets, salt, turmeric powder, Rasam powder, and chilli flakes and cook, covered on low flame.
    5. Stir at intervals and cook till the Broccoli turns slight soft. It should be al dente.
