Ingredients non vegetarian 8 servings


    • head mutton-1kg.
    • turmeric powder-3/4tsp.
    • tomatoes-200to250gm.
    • tamarind-lemon size.
    • small onion-250gms.
    • redchilli powder-4tsp.
    • dhania powder-5tsp.
    • jeera powder-1tsp.
    • crushed pepper powder-1.5 tsp.
    • coconut paste-3/4to1cup.
    • gingelly oil-75ml.
    • vendhayam-1tsp.
    • curryleaves-20nos.
    • salt&water-as reqrd.

    Directions

    • put cleaned head mutton,salt.turmeric powder,reqrd amt of water-in a cooker.
    • cook till it done.keep aside.
    • mix tamarind with water to make tamarind syrup.
    • heat oil in a kadai,add vendhayam.dont overburn.
    • after a good smell comes,add onion&curry leaves.
    • saute well.
    • then add tomatoes,remaining masala powders(except crushed pepper powder).
    • when the raw smell goes out,add tamarind syrup.
    • while it boiling,add preboiled head mutton.
    • check the salt&consistency.
    • if the consistency is too thick,add water to get proper 'kulambu' consistency.
    • finally add crushed pepper.coconut paste.
    • after 2 min,put off fire.
    • serve with plain rice or idli or dosai.
