Cream chicken

Rich and creamy chicken in white gravy

Ingredients non vegetarian 6 servings

    • 1 Chicken (12 pieces)
    For Marination:
    • ½ cup Hung curd
    • 2 tsp. Ginger garlic paste
    • salt 1 tsp
    • 3 Ground onions
    • 2 tsp Ginger garlic paste
    • salt to taste
    • 1 tsp white pepper pd.
    • 1 ½ tsp Chhoti elaychi pd.
    • 3 tbsp Oil
    • 2 tbsp Cashew soaked for 15min. in hot water
    • fresh cream 100 gms


    1. Marinate chicken with curd, ginger garlic paste & salt. Keep aside for 3-4 hrs.
    2. Deep fry chicken & keep aside.
    3. For gravy, heat oil in a pan . Add onion paste & fry till pink in colour. Don't make it brown ,it will change the colour of the gravy.
    4. Add ginger garlic paste & fry for a min. Add salt, white pepper pd. & chicken.
    5. Cover the pan & keep it on low flame for 15-20 min or till chicken becomes tender.
    6. Grind kaju to a paste & add to the chicken, add cream & elaychi pd. If gravy is too thick then add little water to adjust its consistency.
    7. Bring to a boil & cook for 5-7 min. on low flame.
    8. Garnish with cream & fresh corriander & serve hot with naan.



    Good! I tried this recipe and it came out OK. There is only one thing I would like to recommend is to lower the quantity of Chhoti Elaychi Powder to 3/4tsp. instead of 1 1/2tsp. The Chhoti Elaychi Powder took over all the flavors of the dish and it tasted more like Elaychi Chicken instead of Cream Chicken. I'm not sure if I will be making this dish ever again or not. Thank you!
