Panjiri (dabara)

sooji, atta, ghee and nuts

Panjiri is given to newly born baby's mother in punjab, healthy dish.

Ingredients vegetarian 10 servings


    • 1/2 cup semolina (sooji)
    • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour (atta)
    • 1 cup ghee( clarify butter)
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 1 cup almonds, ground
    • 1/4 cup pistacho(pista) ground
    • 1/4 cup gunda, fry in ghee, and grind
    • 1/4 cup phool makane, fry in ghee, and grind
    • 2 tbsp ginger powder
    • 2 tsp Ajwain, ground
    • 2 tbsp cardamom, ground
    • 2 tbsp sauf,(fennel seeds) ground

    Directions

    1. Heat ghee, add flour, sooji on medium heat, and cook for 1/2 an hour or until golden brown.
    2. Add all the other ingredients, and mix well, keep stirring, until fully mixed.
    3. Turn heat down to low, and then turn off heat.
    4. Take daily with warm milk.
    5. Good for newly born baby's mother.

    chaar magaz is melon. Seeds, melon seeds are stale sometimes, therefore it. Spoil the flavor.

    You may use unsalted roasted sun flower seeds, instead of charge magazine or melon seeds.
