Lamb Soup

This spicy soup can be used as starter. This makes a rainy day perfect.

Ingredients non vegetarian 4 servings

  • Salt to taste
  • 1 lb Meat, mostly lamb bones
  • 1 no. Onion
  • 1 piece Ginger, 1 inch
  • 4 cloves Garlic
  • ¼ tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 pinch Nutmeg
  • 1 no. Black Cardamom
  • 4 nos. Cardamom
  • 1 piece Cinnamon
  • 2 cloves Star Anise
  • ½ tsp Cumin Seeds
  • ½ tsp Fennel Seeds
  • Coriander leaves for garnishing


  1. Make a small pouch of the whole spices using a muslin cloth.
  2. Wash the lamb bones. Add water, onion, ginger, garlic, turmeric powder, salt and the pouch of spices and let it cook till the level of water almost reduces to half. Add more water if needed.
  3. Now add coriander powder and let it boil for about fifteen minutes.
  4. Sprinkle a pinch of nutmeg powder, close the lid and take it off the heat.
  5. Serve hot garnished with cilantro.
