My children really love it .

Ingredients vegetarian 6 servings


    • 2 cups wholemeal flour
    • 1 cup gur ( jaggery)
    • 1 dessertspoon lukewarm water
    • 2 dessertspoon aniseed ( saunf)
    • 1 tsp yeast
    • ½ tsp Sugar
    • 1 1/2 cups water

    Directions

    1. Prepare a syrup by boiling jaggery ( gur ) in 1 1/2 cups of water until totally dissolved and set aside to cool .
    2. Add the yeast and sugar in the lukewarm water and leave for 10 minutes .
    3. Knead the gur  , aniseed and yeast mixture into the flour and set aside for half an hour , covered .
    4. Roll the dough into small balls and deep fry .
    5. Serve immediately !
