Chana dal halwa

Yummy sweet dish with lots of dry fruits

Ingredients vegetarian 6 servings

    • 2 cups Chana dal
    • 4 cups Milk
    • 1 cup Ghee
    • 2 cups Sugar
    • 1/2 cup dried coconut chopped
    • 1/4 cup almond blanched and chopped
    • 1/4 cup Cashew nut chopped
    • 1/4 cup Walnut chopped
    • 1/4 cup Pistachio chopped



    1. Wash chana dal add milk and boil in pressure cooker (add more milk if needed).
    2. Blend boiled chana dal in mixer grinder.
    3. Take a thick based kadhai (an open vessel) add blended chana dal,sugar,1/3 cup of ghee to it,stir and mix the mixture well.
    4. Now start cooking on high flame,stir continuously.
    5. When its half cooked (maximum for 10 minutes) add the left over remaining ghee(add more ghee if needed), coconut and chopped dry fruits.
    6. Stir continuously and cook until it starts leaving sides of kadhai (vessel).
    7. Halwa is ready serve ,hot or cold in both the way it tastes yummy.

    hey ur dish sounds gud but vn to add sugar u did not mention better if i get full information and then go for its preperation
