spinach nutri nuggets

nutri nuggets in spicy spinach gravy

Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings

    • 2 medium sized onions
    • 1 medium sized tomato
    • 4-5 cloves of garlic
    • an inch of ginger
    • 1 bay leaf
    • 1 small cinnamom stick
    • 2 cloves
    • 1/2 kg spinach
    • 100 gms. of nutri nuggets (soy bean chunks)
    • 1 tsp. garam masala powder
    • 1/4 tsp.corinder powder
    • Red chilli powder(to taste)
    • 1/2 tsp.turmeric powder
    • oil or butter
    • 1/4 cup fresh cream
    • Salt (to taste)


    1. Make a fine paste of onion,garlic, ginger and tomato in a mixie.
    2. Boil the spinach by simple putting it into a pan and covering it and cooking it for 5 minutes.Cool it and make a fine paste in mixie.
    3. Soak the soy chunks in hot water for 10 minutes.Take it out n squeeze it and keep aside.
    4. Heat oil or butter in a pan.Put in the bay leaf, cinnamon stick and cloves. Stir it well. Then add the above onion paste and fry it.
    5. Mix red chili powder,turmeric powder,coriander powder and garam masala powder and fry till it leaves oil from corners.
    6. Add the spinach paste and mix well.cook for 2 minutes.
    7. Put in the soaked and squeezed nutri nuggets into it and mix well.
    8. Put water and salt.Cover it and cook till the gravy becomes of desired consistency.
    9. Remove from flame.Garnish with fresh cream n serve hot with steamed rice or naan.
