Dal Fry

Yellow mung dal

delicious and easy to make quick to serve with chapati or rice

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings


    • 1 cup Yellow mung dal
    • 1 cup Chopped onion
    • 1 cup Tomatoes fine (chopped)
    • 4 tsp Garlic chopped
    • 2 tsp Ginger (chopped)
    • 1 tsp Green chillies (chopped)
    • 1 tsp garam masala
    • Red chilly powder
    • Turmeric powder
    • Coriander powder
    • Cumin seeds(Jeera)
    • Salt to taste
    • Oil
    • Coriander leaves finely chopped for garnishing

    Directions

    1. put 4 tbsp oil in a cooker as oil heats add jeera to it as jeera turns brown add onion to it.
    2. When onion turns golden brown, add tomatoes, all the spices, ginger, garlic, green chillies to it.
    3. Tthen keep it 5-10 mins on slow flame, as tomatoes turn soft and the mix well and oil comes on their sides add dal to it.
    4. Add water as per the consistency required
    5. Close the lid of the cooker and after 3-4 whistles keep it on slow flame for 5-10 mins.
    6. After your dal is ready add coriander leaves and garam masala to it and serve hot
    7. Delicious dal is ready to serve
