Perfect Dahi Baray

As Ramazaan is nearing this is a delicius treat for iftari time also a good teatime treat .

Ingredients vegetarian 6 servings

    • ½ kg Yogurt
    • ½ cup moong dal ( split green gram)
    • ½ cup maash dal ( white lentil )
    • 1 tsp Ginger paste
    • 1 tsp Garlic paste
    • 1 tsp Cumin powder ( zeera powder)
    • 1 tsp Garam masala powder
    • ½ tsp red chilli powder
    • salt to taste
    • ½ tsp Baking powder

           CHAT MASALA :

    • Whole red chillies 8 -10
    • whole cumin  seed 2 tsp
    • black salt 1/2 tsp

          SAUNT KI CHUTNEY :      

    • inch piece saunt
    • 1 tsp red chilli powder
    • salt to  taste
    • 1/2 cup sugar
    • 1 cup water 



    1. Soak the lentils over night .
    2. Grind them in a mixer and add the rest of the ingredients .
    3. Now fry them and soak in water for sometime
    4. Lay them in a dish .Keep it aside .
    5. Beat the yogurt and add salt to taste and pour over the baras.
    6. Roast the red chillies and cumin and grind it powder add the black salt .
    7. Make the chutney by adding and boiling the liquid till thick and a little sticky .
    8. Pour the sant ki chutney and cat masala over the dahi baras to make it perfect .




    hi fouzia ,, well wat i do to make the vadas soft is dip da vada after fryin in water for 5 secs n remove squeeze gently n then add to da yogurt
