Jumping potatoes

Easy to prepare, nice flavour

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings

    • ½ kg Potatoes (cut in to cubes)
    • 1½ tsp cumin seeds
    • ½ tsp turmeric powder
    • 2 tsp Chilly powder
    • 2 tsp garam masala powder
    • ¾ cup Coriander leaves
    • 1½ tsp amchur (khatai powder)
    • salt to taste
    • 2 tbsp oil


    1. Heat oil in a non stick pan, add cumin seeds,  stir, then add turmeric powder,salt,chilli powder,garam masala powder and coriander leaves, stir well.
    2. Now add potatoes and mix well and let it cook in medium heat(do not add water & do not cover)turning it frequently.Let it cook in the oil and masalas,
    3. when done,add amchur powder, stir well cook for 2 mts and remove.

    I agree with u.But as we have to toss it many times to avoid sticking to the pan , (potatoes looks like jumping) before properly cooked.Anyway thank u


    you did not mention why you called them jumping potatoes. after being properly cooked for this long, nothing can attempt to jump. ( leave alone the poor potatoes). recipe is very routine, nice and simple. give it a more inspiring name.
