Papaya Kootu

it is nutritious and delicious

This goes good wth chapathi and rice

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings


    • 1 Raw papaya
    • 1 tbsp Urad dal
    • 5 Red chillies
    • 1 tbsp Mustard seeds
    • 2 tbsp Coconut scraped
    • 1 tbsp Jeera
    • 2 tbsp Rice flour
    • 1/2 cup Milk

    Directions

    1. Cut the papaya in to length wise pieces, And fill it with water upto a level such that the vegetables are immersed In it completely and cook it in a low flame.
    2. when the papaya is half cooked, add turmeric and salt. Do not drain the water.
    3. Grind coconut, jeera, red chillies with a little water together
    4. Take a bowl add milk,rice flour and the ground paste
    5. Mix everything and add it to the cooked vegetables. Cook for 5 min
    For seasoning/tempering:
    1. Heat oil in a pan. Crackle the mustard seeds, curry leaves, urad dal and red chillies and pour it on top of the vegetable.
    2. This goes good with chapathi and rice.

    hi, your dish is really good.try adding cooked moong dal to papaya and it tastes great and also gives body to the kootu. happy cooking
