makes with least ingredients and ofcourse yummy to eat
Ingredients
vegetarian 2 servings
1 cup rice flour
1 cup sour curd( tamarind water can be used in place of curd)
2-3 curd chillis (can use red chillis if curd chillis are not available)
salt to taste (reduce salt if using curd chillis)
10-12 curry leaves
2 tbsp oil
Directions
Take curd in a large bowl. mix water to make it watery.
Add rice flour slowly and keep mixing so no lumps are formed.
Add salt and make a pouring consistency batter.
If using tamarind, mix rice flour to tamarind water and salt and make a similar dough.
In a heavy bottomed kadhai, heat oil,add mustard seeds and when they splutter, add curry leaves and red chillis (if adding curd chillis pre fry them to black colour and add to oil).
Now pour the rice dough and mix continuously.
Keep cooking uncovered till upma is cooked (rice flour will become pulpy in colour.
Remove from fire. Serve hot.
This dish takes little longer to cook but is yummy for evening snacks.
