Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings


    • 1 cup rice
    • 1 tbsp tuvar dal,
    • 1 tsp pepper
    • 1 tsp jeera
    • 1 tsp mustard seeds
    • 1 tsp urad dal
    • 1 tsp chana dal
    • 1 tbsp coconut oi
    • 10 -12 curry leaves
    • 2-3 red chillis
    • salt to taste
    • 1 tbsp grated coconut (optional)

    Directions

    1. Make a coarse powder of rice, tuvar dal, pepper and jeera.
    2. Heat oil. Add mustard seeds,and when they crackle add urad dal and chana dal.
    3. Add red chillis, curry leaves and 2 and 1/2 cups water and bring to a boil.
    4. Add salt to taste, coconut and rice powder and mix well.
    5. cover and cook .
    6. serve hot
    7. P.S:You can cook in a pressure cooker to save time and nutrients. In that case reduce the quantity of water to 2 cups.
