Maida pakoda

crispy, soft pakoda

very tasty, tempting pakoda

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings

    • 250g maida (sieved)
    • 50g besan (gram flour)
    • 3 onions (big size)(cut into thin long pieces)
    • 5-6 green chillies(chopped)
    • 1 bunch coriander
    • curry leaves(leaves of 4-5 sticks)(chopped)
    • pinch of cooking soda
    • salt (to taste)
    • Oil for frying


    1. Mix maida and besan in a mixing bowl
    2. Heat little oil in kadai and pour to this mixture,mix it
    3. Add onion, green chillies,coriander, curry leaves,cooking soda and salt
    4. Add little water and mix well
    5. Batter consistency must be like idli batter
    6. When the oil is hot, go on dropping the batter with a table spoon
    7. Keep turning till you get brown ,crispy pakodas
    8. This should be served immediately
    9. Don't keep the batter too long because pakodas will not become crispy, and pakodas will suck to more of oil
