Lemon Chicken

Colourful & flavourful

This oriental dish can be served on rice and makes for a visually and palate pleasing dish

Ingredients non vegetarian 2 servings

    • 250 gms boneless chicken (diced into cubes)
    • 1/2 capsicum (cubed, chinese style)
    • 1/2 red bell pepper (cubed)
    • 1/2 yellow bell pepper (cubed)
    • 1/2 tsp minced garlic
    • 1/2 tsp fresh ground black pepper
    • 1 tbsp oil
    • Juice of two lemons
    • 1 tsp cornflour (mixed with the lemon juice)
    • a few lemon slices to garnish
    • Salt to taste


    1. Heat oil in a wok
    2. Add garlic paste and fresh ground pepper
    3. Add the cubed chicken, salt and saute well on high heat
    4. Add 1 cup hot water and cover till chicken is cooked
    5. Add the cubed different coloured peppers to this mix (if you add the peppers before, they will overcook and lose their crunchiness)
    6. Add the juice of the lemons with the cornflour and wait till mixture thickens
    7. Then add the lemon slices
    8. Garnish with spring onions and serve hot with rice.




    Dear Anuradha,your recipe and the picture given looks extremely tempting but i just wanted to ask you dat in the picture whole pieces of chicken can be seen where as the recipe says to use chicken cubes! So please tell whether I have the choice to use whole chicken pieces as well !
