Milagu Chicken chettinad

a spicy chicken preparation

Ingredients non vegetarian 4 servings


    • 1/2 kg chicken
    • 2 tbsps oil

    For the Marinade

    • 3-4 tsps pepper
    • 2-3 cloves
    • 1 tsp cumin seeds
    • 1 tsp fennel seeds(saunf)
    • 5-6 medium-sized cloves of garlic
    • 1 inch piece of ginger
    • 1 medium sized onion
    • 1 medium sized tomato
    • 1 cup coriander leaves
    • 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder
    • salt to taste


    1. Make a smooth paste of all the ingredients meant for the marinade.
    2. Coat it well with the chicken pieces and let it rest atleast for 1 hour
    3. Heat oil in a pan and carefully toss in the whole marinated chicken mixture
    4. Cover and cook on medium heat till well done.
    5. Or  until the gravy thickens enough to form a coat around the pieces
    6.  Can splsutter in some onion rings and a few curry leaves in a bit of oil and add to the chicken once done.
