Sheperd's pie

Ingredients non vegetarian 6 servings

    • 500 gms mutton kheema
    • 1 medium onion (finely chopped)
    • 2 tomatoes ( finely chopped)
    • 3 tsp ginger garlic paste
    • 3 green chillies finely chopped
    • 3-4 tsp red chilli powder
    • 1 tsp dhaniya powdr
    • 1/2 tsp turmeric
    • 4-5 cloves
    • 1 1/2 inch cinnamon
    • 2 green cardamom
    • 1 black cardamom
    • a pinch of mace powdr salt to taste

    for topping

    2 mashed potatoes,50 ml of fresh cream,salt to taste,1/4 tsp white pepper powdr,and a pinch of nutmeg powdr


    1. Heat oil in a kadai,add the cloves, cinnamon, cardamoms and then onions, ginger garlic and tomatoes.
    2. Fry well adding red chilli powdr,dhaniya and turmeric and fry till the oil add the meat and stir in well on high flame till the masala and the meat blend well together.add salt to taste.pour in some water and allow the meat to cook well till soft.when the meat is cooked ensure that there is no water remaining and the curry is totally thick.transfer this to a glass dish and set aside for topping
    3. blend all the ingredients given well till smooth in a blender and cover the cooked kheema with the mixture and bake till just the coating turns colour.
    4. note: baking is done only for the potato mixture to get itself well coated on the kheema
