Masala crab roast

this crab roast is a spicy south Indian way of preparation., and believe me it's a treat for the entire family!!

Ingredients non vegetarian 4 servings

    • 12 crabs
    • 1 onion large
    • 1 tsp dhaniya
    • 1 1/2 tsp pepper
    • 1 tsp jeera
    • 1 tsp saunf
    • 3-4 greeen chillies
    • 3-4 cloves
    • 1 inch cinnamon
    • 1 inch ginger
    • 8-10 cloves of garlic
    • a handful of curry leaves and coriander
    • 1 1/2 tsp turmeric
    • 2-3 tsp red chilli powder


    1. heat oil and fry all ingredients one by one except the turmeric and chilli powder.
    2. grind them to a fine paste.
    3. in the same kadai,pour oil and add the crab and the masala paste together and stir well coating the crab well with the masala
    4. add turmeric powder,red chilli powder and salt to taste and again stir well.
    5. keep stirring and cook well till oil seperates and keep simmered for atleast 40 minutes.
    6. when u see your crab turning into a nice red colour you will know that it has been cooked and the masala also is well coated to the crab.
    7. serve it hot with rice.or eat just like that.
