this gravy has a very authentic southern touch and you are sure to enjoy it either with rice or appams.....
Ingredients
non vegetarian 4 servings
1 kg chicken
2 green chillies
1 onion
1 1/2 tsp dhaniya
1 tsp saunf
1 tsp jeera
5 cloves
1 1/2 inch cinnamon
12-15 whole red chillies
1 inch ginger
8-10 pods garlic
4-5 tsps of grated coconut
1 tsp turmeric
2 tsp red chillie powder
curry leaves and coriander for garnish
salt to taste
Directions
Heat oil, fry dhaniya, saunf, jeera, whole red chillies, ginger, garlic, cloves, cinnamon and the onions and coconut. fry well till light brown and the smell of the spices are out.
Grind to paste and set aside.
Fry the green chillies with curry leaves and add the chicken into the oil and fry with turmeric,salt and red chilli powder.
Now add the ground paste and toss the masala and chicken on high flame till the masala coats the chicken and the oil separates.
Pour a little oil and cook for at least 10 more minutes and garnish with coriander leaves.
