Spinach with Rajma

a healthy combination of grains and it a nice taste.

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings

    • 1/2 cup rajma soaked overnight
    • 2 bunches palak (spinach)
    • 3 green chillies
    • whole garam masalas( 2 cloves, 1 inch cinnamon,1 elachi)
    • 1 onion
    • 2 tomatoes
    • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
    • 1 tsp red chilli powder
    • 1/2 tsp dhaniya powder
    • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
    • 1/2 tsp jeera powder
    • salt to taste


    1. boil the rajma till soft in a pressure cooker adding 1/2 tsp of salt.
    2. fry onions and tomatoes in oil and make a paste.
    3. blanche spinach and grind with green chillies into a puree
    4. heat oil and add the whole garam masalas and fry with ginger garlic paste and the onion tomato paste.
    5. add all the masala powders and salt and the boiled rajma.
    6. cook for 5 minutes and then add the spinach puree also and cook( adding water if necessary) till another 10 minutes on simmer
    7. serve hot with roti or rice.




    you may add kasuri methi to this recipe if you wish.
