Chirotti

sweet puri

an excellent sweet served usually for auspicious occasions in Karnataka...eat crispy puris served with saffron milk

Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings


    for puris

    • 1 cup chirotti sooji
    • 1/4 cup milk
    • water
    • a pinch of salt

    for serving

     

    • powdered sugar
    • 1 tsp cardamom powder
    • few strands of saffron(soaked in a few tsps of milk)
    • 1/2 lit milk
    • 1/2 cup sugar

     

    Directions

    1. mix the chirooti sooji,milk and water with a pinch of salt and make a soft dough
    2. roll into small puris and deep fry and set aside
    3. boil milk with sugar and and reduce it to half.
    4. add cardamom powder and saffron.
    TO SERVE:SPRINKLE THE POWDERED SUGAR OVER THE PURIS AND SERVE WITH THE SAFFRON MILK POURED OVER IT
