a popular southern way of cooking drumsticks with mutton.you may add even brinjals in the same gravy....tastes best when the gravy is made watery....!!
Ingredients
non vegetarian 4 servings
1/2 kg mutton
3 drumsticks cut into 1 inch pieces
2 onions
2 tomatoes
4-5 tsps grated coconut
1 1/2 tsps dhaniya powder
3 tsps red chilli powder
1 1/2 tsp turmeric
1 elachi
5 cloves
1 1/2 inch cinnamon stick
1/2 tsp garam masala
3 tsps ginger garlic paste
few curry leaves and coriander
salt to taste
Directions
Pressure cook the mutton upto 5 whistles adding salt, 1/2 tsp turmeric, and 1 tsp ginger garlic paste.
fry chopped onions and grated coconut in oil till brown and make a paste.
heat oil and fry whole garam masalas,ginger garlic paste, tomatoes, curry leaves and coriander and fry well till tomatoes are soft.
add the dhaniya, red chilli powder and also the turmeric.add the chopped drumsticks and mix well till oil seperates.
add in the cooked mutton and the onion masala. now pour in some water and check salt
cook till the drumsticks are soft and the gravy is done.
