Gongura is a tasty and popular leaf which is used in most of Andhra cuisines.it's sourness is enjoyed to its best and this is one of their popular combinations.
Ingredients
non vegetarian 4 servings
1 cup of chopped gongura leaves
750 gms chicken
2 onions chopped
2 tomatoes
2 tsps ginger garlic paste
1 1/2 tsp turmeric
2 1/2 tsps red chilli powder
1 1/2 tsp dhaniya powder
2 green chillies
4-5 cloves
1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
1/2 tsp garam masala
Directions
wash the leaves well and boil them in a kadai adding 1 onion, 1/2 tsp turmeric ,green chillies and 1 tomato till water is absorbed well
cool this and grind to a puree and keep aside
heat a kadai and add cloves and remaining onions and fry well with ginger garlic paste.
add the tomatoes also and the masala powders and cook well.
add the chicken now and mix till all the masalas coat the meat and cook till oil seperates.
pour some water and allow to boil.
when the chicken is almost done pour in the pureed gongura and cook for another 5 minutes or till the gravy is thick and saucy.
