Instant Tomato Dosa

Dosa made from Rice, Toor dal & Tomatoes

Simple & tasty dosa...anytime for breakfast or lunch box. Requires no fermenting.

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings

    • 1 1/2 cups Rice
    • 1/2 cup Toor dal
    • 2 chopped Tomatoes
    • 5-6 Dry Red chillies
    • 5-6 Curry leaves
    • 1/4 cup Cilantro (coriander leaves)
    • Salt to taste


    1. Grind Rice, Toor dal, Tomatoes, Red chillies, Curry leaves & Cilantro to a smooth paste to the dosa batter consistency. Add Salt & mix well.
    2. Heat a griddle & apply little Oil. Make dosa from the batter like regular dosa by putting Oil on the sides. Flip on the other side & roast for 15-20 secs. Serve with Coconut chutney.

    I made this today with some slight changes I soaked the rice, tur dal,with some methi seeds, I also soaked some dry red chillies, the next morning ground all together adding chopped tomatoes, salt, dhania (did not have any curry leaves). This was sooooo tasty, we had it with mint chutney. Thank you.
