Prawns rassa

prawns curry maharastrain style

Ingredients non vegetarian 4 servings

    • 500 gms cleaned and de-veined prawns
    • 1 cup grated cocounut
    • 1 small onion thinly sliced
    • 2 tps corriender seed
    • 1 tps ginger garlic paste
    • 2 small brinjals
    • 1 small potato
    • 4-5 kokam
    • 1 1/2 tps chilly powder
    • 1/4 tps garam masala powder
    • 2 tps oil


    1. In a pan dry roast grated coconut and coriander seeds, and let it cool
    2. Meanwhile add little oil and saute sliced onion till nice golden when cool, blend it to make a smooth paste add water if required.  In a kadhai add oil when heated add the ground masala, chilly powder,  cut the potatoes and add to the masala mix well
    3. When patotoes are  1/2 done, add brinjals add water if required, when brinjals are 1/2 done add prawns, kokam and garam masala let it simmer of 8-10 mins. 
    4. Prawns curry is ready
    5. Goes well with steam rice and chappati/ bhakri
