snake gourd raita

A healthy side dish

A healthy side dish taken alongwith rice as well as roti.

Ingredients vegetarian 1 servings

    • 1 tender snake gourd
    • 2 small cups yogurt
    • 4 green chillies finely chopped
    • corriander leaves finely chopped
    • little water
    • 2 tsp oil
    • little mustard seeds
    • little jeera
    • curry leaves
    • pinch of asafoetida (hing)
    • salt to taste


    1. Cut the snake gourd into small pieces of cubes
    2. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds and jeera
    3. After it crackles add hing and curry leaves
    4. Add snake gourd pieces and mix it well
    5. Add salt and water and cook on simmer
    6. After it is cooked allow it to cool
    7. Take yogurt in a bowl and add the cooked snake gourd pieces
    8. Garnish with green chillies and corriander leaves
    9. Serve with rice or roti




    Hi, do we need to add anything in curd, salt?
