Basic doughs

Doughs can be made in diff ways. Once you learn how to excellence in doughs making, u will love making diff pastries.Here r some basic methods & u can add or alter ingredients as u become an expert.

Ingredients vegetarian 6 servings


    For puries:
    • 1 cup flour 
    • a good pinch of baking powder.
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • 3 tbsp oil
    • 1/2 cup water.
    Yeast doughs for pizzas or breads:
    • 3 cup flour
    • 1 1/2 cup warm water
    • 2 tbsp sugar
    • 1 tsp salt
    • 1/4 cup oil
    • 1 tsp baking powder
    • 1 1/2 tsp instant yeast

    Directions

    For puries:
    1. combine flour, b powder, salt together in a mixing bowl.
    2. Add oil & mix, then pour water & make a soft & flexible dough.
    3. Knead on a floured surface for 5 min & set aside to make samosas or puries.
    For yeast dough:
    1. In a food processor combine yeast, sugar, & process for a min.
    2. Add oil & water & process
    3. Shift flour, pb powder,salt together & add to the yeast mixture
    4. Process for 5 min.
    5. Bring out on a floured board & knead for 5 min.
    6. Oil a deep bowl & put the dough in it. Allow it to rise for 1/2 hour.
    7. Use as required for making pizzas or breads.

    Hi Khuserv, No the water is perfect, u need not to worry about the water amount. Give it a try, Ur dough will be flexible but that is what will make your pastry soft after it's cooked for the correct timing 20-25 min for pizza, 3-5 min for naan, 15 -20 for breads( depending on the size). & for puri doughs u'll need to take them out once they r golden.Dough making is all about practise, the more u make them the better u become in making them.Cheers.
