Paneer, cheese and potato balls in spinach gravy

made in microwave to cut down calories

an easy to make recipe for working women

Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings

    • 1 1/2 cup - spinach puree
    • 2 potatoes, boiled and mashed
    • 1 1/2 tbsp paneer
    • 1 1/2 tbsp grated cheese
    • 1 tsp +1 tsp green chilli paste
    • 2 tsp ginger paste
    • 4 tbsp green garlic, chopped or 1 tsp. garlic paste
    • 4 tbsp coriander leaves, roughly chopped
    • 1/4 tsp. + a pinch - black pepper pwd
    • 1 tbsp cornflour
    • 1 large onion paste
    • 1 tbsp butter
    • salt to taste
    • 1 tbsp cream (optional)


    1. Boil 4 glasses of water in a large pan.After a boil add whole spinach leaves.After 2 min.take out spinach and keep in cold water.
    2. Drain cold water.Add coriander leaves + green garlic + 1 t.sp. green chilli paste.Blend it to make a smooth paste without adding water.
    3. Take butter in micro safe bowl, add onion paste and microwave on high for 1 min.Add ginger and cook for 1 min.Add spinach paste and salt and cook for 1 min.
    4. If you want to add cream add at this stage.
    5. In a small bowl mix cheese and paneer adding a pinch of black pepper.Don t add salt.Make 8 balls.
    6. In another bowl mix potato + green chilli + salt + black pepper pwd + corn flour. Mix well.Make 8 lemon size balls.
    7. Take a ball in your hand, flatten and place a paneer-cheese ball and cover.Prepare the rest.
    8. Place the balls in micro safe dish and cook for 30 sec.
    9. Pour spinach puree and cook again for 2 min.Spinach should coat the balls. 10. Garnish with grated cheese.Serve with paratha. Plz note. Prepare puree and balls in advance and microwave at the time of serving. Spinach will not loose its lovely green color.
