Satranga rice

main course rice dish.

Recipe by naaz of

dramatic presentation which will linger your guests for days.

Ingredients non vegetarian 4 servings

  • 3 cups Rice, steamed
  • 1 kg Mutton, boneless ground meat
  • 1 tbsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Chili, powder
  • ½ cup Mint, & coriander paste
  • 1 tbsp All spice powder
  • 1 no. Coconut, For Green Chutney
  • 4 nos. Green Chilies, For Green Chutney
  • 1 bunch Coriander leaves, For Green Chutney
  • 1 bunch Mint, For Green Chutney
  • 1 tbsp Salt, For Green Chutney
  • 2 cups Tomato Sauce

Ginger & garlic paste 1tbsp.

Directions

  1. Mix ingredients which are not marked "For Green Chutney" into the ground meat and make small patties and fry on a tava like cutlets(ie)very less oil.
  2. Take them out from tava.
  3. Now make alternate layers of rice,followed by the patties and then the green chutney and then the ketchup layer.
  4. Once the layers have been put together cut as you would cut a cake and make four portions so that all the layers would show like satranga the name of the dish.
  5. Make sure the rice is very hot when you put the layers together so that it doesnt fall off after you cut!
