paratha lovers should enjoy this variation of paratha... as such variety is the spice of life.
vegetarian 4 servings
2 cups grated cabbage
1 grated onion (large)
1 tea spoon cumin seeds (jeera)
1 tea spoon or to taste red chilli powder
very finely chopped green chilli to taste
1 tea spoon chaat masala
salt to taste
2 cups whole wheat flour
oil/ghee/butter for shallow frying
mix all the above ingredients exccept oil and knead into a dough. DO NOT add water as the veggies will leave their own water when mixed with salt. One can vary the quantity of flour as per requirement so that a smooth dough is prepared of which parathas can be rolled out.
divide the dough into large lemon sized balls and roll it into parathas using a rolling pin.
on a warm griddle shallow fry the parathas using oil/butter/ ghee till golden brown on medium flame.
