masoor dal with arbi

i tried this dal at my friends house when i was in school.

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings


    • 2    cups of red masoor dal (boiled with haldi)
    • 1 cup of boiled and chopped arbi
    • 1 no. chopped onion
    • 3 no. chopped tomato
    • 2 tbsp garlic paste
    • 1 tbsp ginger and green chilli paste
    • 1 tbsp green chilli chopped(if u want more spicy)
    • 1 tbsp jeera
    • salt to taste
    • 2 tbsp desi ghee

    Directions

    1. Heat ghee in a degchi
    2. Add jeera .when jeera starts crackle , add garlic ,ginger and green chilli paste.
    3. Fry for few minutes.
    4. Add onions and cook till onions soften.
    5. Add tomatoes and cook for few minutes.
    6. Add dal, arbi and salt .
    7. Cover with lid and cook for 10 minutes on low flame.
    8. Garnish with coriander leaves .
    9. Serve hot with steamed rice.
