i tried this dal at my friends house when i was in school.
2 cups of red masoor dal (boiled with haldi)
1 cup of boiled and chopped arbi
1 no. chopped onion
3 no. chopped tomato
2 tbsp garlic paste
1 tbsp ginger and green chilli paste
1 tbsp green chilli chopped(if u want more spicy)
1 tbsp jeera
salt to taste
2 tbsp desi ghee
Heat ghee in a degchi
Add jeera .when jeera starts crackle , add garlic ,ginger and green chilli paste.
Fry for few minutes.
Add onions and cook till onions soften.
Add tomatoes and cook for few minutes.
Add dal, arbi and salt .
Cover with lid and cook for 10 minutes on low flame.
Garnish with coriander leaves .
Serve hot with steamed rice.
