Suji dosa

semolina pancakes

Recipe by abbasi of abu dhabi, AE

a good and nutritious snack which is a favourite of my children i am sure others will like it too

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings


    • 1/2 Kg semolina (Sooji/Rawa)
    • 1 egg
    • 1 onion
    • 1 tbsp yoghurt
    • water to make the batter

    Directions

    1. Soak suji in a tablespoon of yogurt for half hour.
    2. Make a free flowing but thick batter with water, beaten egg and salt to taste.
    3. Slice onions fine and add to the mixture.
    4. Pour two tablespoons of batter on a non stick pan and cook on one side.
    5. Turn to the other side and fry till golden in colour.
    6. Serve with tomato sauce.

    Note: a 1/4 tsp of jeera can also be added to enhance the taste.
