Chana Dhal Kheer

A very simple sweet dish

Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings

    1 cup Chana Dhal 1/2 cup Jaggery 1.5 cup Milk 1 tsp Cardamom (Elaichi) Powder 2 tbsp Oil (or ghee) Cashews to taste Raisins to taste


    1. Roast Chana Dhal till light red and soak it in water for 15/20 minutes.
    2. Pressure cook the dhal and once it cools, grind it coarsely.
    3. In a Kadai, put the ground dhal mixture, oil, jaggery and cardamom powder.
    4. Cook this mixture for 10 minutes so that every things is well incorporated.
    5. Add milk to it and cook till it thickens.
    6. Add raisins and roasted cashews.
    7. Chana Dhal Kheer is ready. Serve it in a bowl.

    In this kheer we can use Moong dhal also as substitute & add lauki boiled & mashed the taste is great.
