Sooji Halva

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings

    Sooji (semolina) 1 cup Water 1 1/2 cups Milk 1 1/2 cups Sugar 1 1/2 cups Ghee 3-4 tbsp. Cardamons few Cashews some Raisins some Saffron or Turmeric for color


    Roast sooji until light brown. Boil water and milk, add sugar, allow it to completely dissolve. Add rava to water slowly, stirring. Cook Fry cardamons, raisins, cashews in ghee. Add to rava. Add saffron/turmeric and mix.

    Instead of tumeric why not add a pinch of yellow/orange biryani colour diluted with a little milk.

    Dear, The picture shown with the recipe halwa cut into pieces. This type of halwa is made with different way. The recipe is of simple sooji halwa taken at morning with purees. Note; Turmeric is not used for color in sweets.
