Ingredients vegetarian 6 servings


    • 1cup dal
    • 2 carrots
    • 1 capsicum
    • 1potato
    • few beans
    • 100gms white bopla
    • 100gms red bopla
    • 2 tomatoes
    • little peas
    • 2 drumsticks
    • 1 small onion
    • few green chillies
    • 1 small peice of ginger
    • lot of curry leaves
    • sambar powder
    • 1 lemon sized ball of tamarind
    • 1 cup corriender leaves
    • 1/2 tsp rai
    • 2-3 red chillies
    • 1/3 tsp turmeric powder
    • 3 tsp coconut oil
    • salt to taste

    Directions

    1. First pressure cook dal along with turmeric pd. & salt, keep it aside.
    2. In another vessel, boil all the vegetables along with onion, little curry leaves, ginger & 1 tsp coconut oil.
    3. When the vegetables are half boiled, add the juice of tamrind and cook till the vegetables are done (don't over cook)
    4. Now add the dal along with 3 tsp of sambar powder (you can get it from any Indian grocery store) little curry leaves & salt. let it simmer for few minutes.
    5. Turn off the heat, add the chopped corriender, close the lid ,keep it aside.
    6. Take a pan pour 2 tsp of coconut oil, add rai, red chillies, and curry leaves, pour it into sambar.
    7. Serve it hot .
