Very delicious dish that can be kept for 5 days.
Ingredients
vegetarian
4 servings
1 Kg Tomatoes
1/2 tsp Mustard
1/2 tsp Jeera
1/2 tsp Methi
These three must be fried ( without oil) and ground
3 tsp Ginger (Grated)
3 tsp Red Chilli powder (to taste)
1 tsp Turmeric powder
Salt
6 tbsp Oil
For Tempering
1/2 tsp of Mustard seeds
1/2 tsp of Urud dal
Directions
Cut tomatoes in very small pieces and grind them in mixie without adding water.
Put it in kadai without oil and let it heat as long as all the water content goes. We can cover it and put the heat to low.
After the tomatoes are somewhat dry remove it and keep aside.
Heat the clean kadai and put 3 tsp of oil in it
Put mustard and urud dal
After it splutter, add grated ginger and let it cook for 1 minute.
Put the tomatoes and saute them thoroughly.
Put red chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt.
Let it cook for 5-10 minutes at low heat.
After it is done put 1 tsp of mustard, jeera, methi powder
Cook for 5 more minutes and store it in air tight bottle.
It is best when we go for long travel.
Goes best with Roties and Idlies
