Aloo Mutter South style

Simple and quick dish

Children will like this as it has no stronger masala.

Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings

    • 1 large onion
    • 3 or 4 green chillies
    • 2 cups peas
    • 3 potatoes
    • 1 pinch of curry leaves
    • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
    • 2 tsp of grated coconut(Optional)
    • 1 tsp Jeera
    • 1 or 2 garlic cloves
    For tempering
    • 1/2 tsp urud dal
    • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds


    1. Boil  peas  and potatoes in a pressure pan (Just one whistle)
    2. Peel off the potato skin and cut it into square shape
    3. In a kadai put some oil and add urud dal and mustard seeds
    4. After it splutters add curry leaves and onions and fry it
    5. After it is done add potato and peas
    6. Smash green chillies, jeera and garlic in Okli
    7. Add the coarse mixture ,and salt  to the vegetable and sim the flame.
    8. After it is cooked add the coconut and serve hot with sambar/dal rice.
    9. Easy to make and it has a typical south Indian flavor.
