Low Spice Sweet and Tangy Potato

A different and easy way to cook potatoes.

The fragrance of curry leaves will drive you krazzy!!!!Can also be used for filling masala dosa and parathas.

Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings


    • 3 large potatoes cut into small squares
    • 1 tsp rye/black sarson
    • 15-20 curry leaves
    • salt to taste
    • 2 whole red chillies
    • 1 small onion finely chopped
    • 3 tsp sugar
    • 1 tsp turmeric
    • 1 tbsp cooking oil

    Directions

    1. Heat oil in a pressure cooker.
    2. Add rye and let it splutter.
    3. To it add the red chillies and curry leaves.
    4. Add the cut potatoes,finely chopped onion, salt, turmeric and sugar and stir.
    5. Add around half a cup of water and place the lid of the pressure cooker.Cook for 5-7 minutes or till the water is absorbed and potatoes become tender.
    6. Serve hot with rice and dal or parathas.

    YOY CAN ALSO USE BOILED POTATOES FOR PREPARING THIS RECIPE. IN THAT CASE YOU NEED A KADHAI AND NOT A PRESSURE COOKER. ALSO THE TIME TAKEN WILL BE LESS.

    this recipe seems to be fast and easy. Even not many ingredients. Will try this out and i am sure it will taste yummy.
