Spicy buttermilk

Cool, thirst quenching, healthy option for cool drinks

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings


    • 1 cup buttermilk (smoothly beaten curd)
    • 4 cups cold water
    • 1 tsp dry ginger powder
    • 1 tsp chopped fresh ginger
    • 1” green chilly piece
    • 1 tbsp chopped coriander
    • 1 tbsp chopped mint leaves
    • 1 tbsp curry leaves
    • ½ tsp rock salt
    • 1 tsp jeera powder
    • Juice of 1 lemon
    • Salt as per taste

    Directions

    1. Grind together fresh ginger, chilly, coriander and mint to a fine paste
    2. Crush curry leaves between your palms and add into buttermilk
    3. Add the paste and all the remaining ingredients also into it.
    4. Now mix very well and strain it in a juice strainer.
    5. Adjust the salt and serve garnished with a sprig of mint
    NOTE:If you prepare this in the morning and store  in the refrigerator it serves great as a mid afternoon drink
