There are many versions of a daal in India, this daal is amongst them but having a different taste than regular one then, why not try it? .
Ingredients
vegetarian 2 servings
1 cup Tuvar daal
1 chopped onion
1 chopped tomato
1/4 cup dried coconut
2 tsp poppy seeds
1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
Few curry leaves
coriander leaves
2-3 green chillies
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp red chilly powder
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp muster seeds
1 tsp coriander powder
oil
pinch of sugar
salt to taste
Directions
Wash tuvar daal & put in pressure cooker with a cup water, cook it properly.
In one heated pan add chopped onion, coconut & fry them till it turn in to brown color.
Now make a fine paste of it by adding few coriander leaves in it.
Heat a pan with 2-3 tsp oil. add cumin, muster & poppy seeds & let them splutter. add curry leaves,ginger garlic paste, chopped green chillies. then add the fine paste in it.
Then add chopped tomato, after mixing it properly with paste add turmeric, red chilly powder & coriander powder.
Finally add tuvar daal, pinch of sugar ,salt ,mix it & simmer it 4-5 min.
