Sabudana Kheer

Sago Pudding!!

Fasting is one favourite "activity" of many Indian so here the Kheer for all fasting lover & to all also who like sweets.

Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings

    • 1 cup sabudana(sago/Tapoica)
    • 5 cup milk
    • 1/2 cup sugar
    • few nuts(cashew,almond)
    • 1 tsp ghee
    • 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
    • Few raisins


    1. Soak the sabudana in water for 15 minutes if it is small in size, otherwise for big sized sabudana soak it 5-6 hours or overnight.(sabudana comes in 2 sizes, small one which soak within 10-15 min & big one takes more than 5 hours)
    2. Heat a pan with a ghee, add raisins & all nuts.shallow fry them in ghee.
    3. Pour the milk & let it boil for 10-15 min .
    4. Now add soaked sabudana in it & let it cook till it  can be easily pressed between fingers.
    5. Now add sugar and mix well till the sugar dissolves completely.
    6. Add cardamom powder, mix it & serve it hot
    7. This kheer is quite thick if want thin then add 1 cup milk to make it thin & then serve.
    8. TIP:-The kheer with big sabudana tastes better than the kheer with small ones.
