A simple & tasty recipe which is famous from village to metro in maharashtra-a real hindustani dish

Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings

    • 1 cup gram flour(besan)
    • 1 onion(chopped)
    • handful coriander leaves(chopped)
    • handful freesh & chopped fenugreek leaves(optional)
    • 1 tsp green chilly paste
    • 1/4 tsp turmeric
    • salt to taste
    • 3 tsp oil
    • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
    • 1 tsp mustard-cumin seeds


    1. Take a bowl with 3 cup water, add besan in it, mix it properly till besan deslove completly in a water.
    2. Heat a pan with oil, add mustard-cumin seeds, once crackle add ginger-garlic paste.
    3. Add half of coriander & all fenugreek leaves.
    4. Then add onion & let it cook on medium heat, till it become soft.
    5. Now add salt, green chilly paste, turmeric, mix it & then pour the besan mixture in it.
    6. Keep running the spoon in the mixture till it become a thick.when become thick remove spoon & allow to cook it for 2 min.
    7. Add remaining coriander leaves & remove from fire & serve it.
    8. In Maharashtra Zunka serves with Bhakari(Jawar Roti), spring onion,pickle...yammi, missing India.
