Green Chicken Masala

Easy to prepare Green Chicken Masala

Ingredients non vegetarian 4 servings

    • 15 boneless Chicken pieces
    • 1 inch ginger (freshly ground paste)
    • 10 garlic flakes(freshly ground paste)
    • 5 no.s green chillies (freshly ground paste)
    • 1 tsp turmeric powder
    • 2 cup - coconut milk(fresh)
    • 2 tsp salt
    • for tempering:
    • 1 tsp fennel seeds
    • 1 curry leaves
    • chopped coriander leaves - one handful
    • 2 Cinnamon sticks
    • 2 cloves
    • 3 tsp Oil
    • 1 onion (paste)
    • 2 brinji leaves


    1. Heat oil in a pressure pan and pour oil then put brinji leaves, cinnamon sticks, cloves , fennel seeds, curry leaves, onion paste, chopped coriander leaves and saute well.
    2. After 5 minutes, add ginger paste, then garlic paste and then green chilli paste and saute well.
    3. Put the chicken pieces and turmeric powder and saute for 2 minutes.
    4. Add the freshly prepared cocunut milk and needed salt . close the lid of the pressure pan and cook till done (upto 5 whistle).
    5. You can have this green chicken masala with rice and chapathi.

    You can add 1/2 cup cashew paste(with or without Kas Kas- 1tsp) 5 mins before turning off the fire to give richness to the Green Chicken Masala .
