Ingredients non vegetarian 4 servings

    • chicken pieces(boneless) - 10 pieces
    • egg - 1 no
    • chilli powder - 2 tsp
    • paparika - 1tsp
    • vinegar or lemon juice- 1 tsp
    • soy sauce - 2tsp
    • salt - 2tsp
    • finely chopped onion- 1 no
    • green chillies - 2 no.s
    • refine oil for deep frying


    1. mix the chicken pieces with vinegar ,2 tsp soy sauce, chilli powder ,paprika ,salt and beaten egg.keep aside for 2 hours.
    2.  slice onion and green chilli thin.
    3.  heat oil in a pan and deep fry chicken pieces(keep aside the remaining marinade).
    4. remove from oil keep aside. remove oil from pan leaving about 1 tbsp.add onion and green chillies and saute till golden brown.add the remaining marinade and cook till thickened.
    5. add deep- fried chicken pieces and remaining soy sauce and little salt. .cook till done and serve hot.



    Good! I tried this recipe and it came out OK. This dish was too dry for me and I would definitely recommend using corn flour/corn starch in the marinade. I would also like to recommend using only 1 tsp. salt instead of 2 tsps. The dish did not look anything like the picture. Overall, I love chilly chicken, but this recipe did not turn out to be as I expected. I don't think that I will be making this dish ever again. Thank you!

    Add 1 tsp spring onions and 1 tsp chopped capsicum before turning off the flame.

    You can use the ready-made chilli chicken masala powder - 2tsp( or to taste) instead of chilli powder and paprika.
